"Karmanyeva adhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana Ma karmaphalahetur bhurma te sangostvakarmani..." - Bhagavad Gita
In other words, "Seek to perform your duty , but lay not claim to its fruits". Be you not the producer of the fruits of karma; neither shall you lean towards inaction.
Wait. You dont have to check the URL again to confirm. You are in Sojish.com & not in any spiritual site. Its just that something really amazing happened to me , and I couldnt get a better introduction for the whole thing.
5 years back someone promised me that he'll show me snow. He also said that if I land up in his place , he'll make sure that I have the best time in the whole world. Considering that this someone was my Boss and that he is in US while I was working from a small office of Poornam in Kochi, I never truly believed in it.
Years passed . I no longer worked for that 'someone'. My roles changed inside office. I was busy juggling many roles which also meant that I never got time to talk with him. Infact I never talked with him for years together.
On Aug 27th 2008 , exactly 6 years after I first talked with this 'someone' I was on my flight to Portland.I was trying to figure out the exit of Airport, when a middle aged guy came near me. He was pointing to a Portland Tourist Brochure in his hand and asking , "Hey, Can you tell me how I can go to this place ?"
I gave a smile and said, "I'm sorry . I'm new to this place . I dont know the way around ".
Suddenly he burst out laughing and said , "Sojish, its me . Your Guru !!". He introduced me to his beautiful wife , who was waiting near the car. They put me up in the best room in their house. The view from the room was truly amazing.
For next 4 days, I lived like a prince. Each & every moment I spent in Portland will be etched in my mind forever. Be it butt-sliding on the snow or playing musical chair in a restaurant to get near fireplace . The best was walking together in the busy streets of Portland wearing wet clothes after jet boating on Willamet river. I was truly in heaven.
This blog is dedicated to my Guru , who changed the way I saw my life , my work & my world. He is a person who believes in Karma and hence the words from Bhagavad Gita..
