The site has changed ... :) . The author has not & neither did the contents too ( though I wish I could do something about it ) Wise people said, 'Change is the only truth in this world' . I cannot agree with them more. Everything around us change , let it be friends , weather, job , roads and even the potholes on the road. Still we all resist the change . We want to cling on to the present, not knowing that changes are all for good. I was listening to someone who was giving a speech on 'finding happiness' . He gave a list of situations when we , the human beings feel happy and content. The first on the list is 'Certainity' . Certainity of having Food , Water & Shelter . An individual feels happy when he is certain that , he'll get all three basic necessities. The next in the list , was a shocker for me . It is "uncertainty" . He says , when the basic needs are certain , every human being look out for uncertainity . Uncertainity can be due to a mystery , a luck or simply fate . It could be a lottery that we won , or it could be a once-in-a-life-time opportunity that came without much efforts . So uncertainty is something we look forward to .
However , uncertainty can bring in sadness too . Losing a family member or maybe your girlfriend ditching you or may be you losing your wallet in a crowded mall, all those fall into uncertainty. Fact is , though such an uncertainty can stop you for a moment , it cannot stop you forever . You will sooner or later embrace those changes and move on. We move through all these changes until we reach the final one, 'death' . Nobody can run away from that. Thats when we really start to think about whether your life was worth living or not. What will I do when I know that I'm about to die ? I've not thought on those aspects , but after listening to dying Professor Randy Pausch giving his last lecture, I've started wondering.
If you have more than 1 hour , I suggest you listen to his entire speech available at http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ji5_MqicxSo It wont teach you how to handle death , but it'll teach you how to live your life fully. Thats for sure . Meanwhile just embrace the changes in my site.
