Iqqu called me yesterday ... from a kerala no.
I asked , " you back home ?"
He replied.. "I'm in WIFE-HOUSE"
The "Wife-house" part sent me wondering for few seconds. I never knew that Yasi ( Iqqu's wife) stays in another place .
Iqqu was kind enough to correct me . Wife-house means in-law's place. Friends , these are one of the few new words , we bachelors need to get accustomed to . We are bound to hear a lot of more of such couple's vocab.
I remember HariKrishnan's ( Maaman's ) call one day .
I asked him..."How is Sumi ? ". ( Sumi is his wife)
He replied .."Sumi , is carrying" .
I asked .. " Why cant you help her da ? You have a better physique" .
Maaman was more perplexed than me . He was sane enough to educate the ignorant one. When a husband says , wife is carrying , it means ... "She is pregnant" .
Well, That was news to me. !!!
Few months back , my colleagues taught me that "expecting" also has similar meaning . English is a funny language . Or is it because, we use it in such a way ?
Anyway , for the sake of my bachelor friends ... i'm listing all the couple's voc , along with their meanings before marriage.
